Help please. Post: Mail re-direction issue.

Could you not write to them at your address enclosing a phone number, then it should get redirected to them and hopefully they will call you

I'm amazed at that attitude. Have you checked with the Royal Mail directly ? (rather than the local postmaster).

Their priority is to make sure that mail that is addressed to you at your house gets to you. Anything (anyone) else ought to be secondary. If that means they can't fulfill the previous tenants' redirection then so be it!

A quick look at the Redirection website seems to suggest that in the case of similar names, a correct name & address will not be redirected....

Are there people still at your old address who have a similar name to you?
For example, if your name is Mr. George Smith and a person at the old address is called Mr. Gregory Smith, mail may be addressed to Mr. G Smith. If this is the case we will have to deliver the mail as addressed.

Thanks for your post. However, what does that mean ^^^ (in bold.) particularly the bit where it says 'we will have to deliver the mail as addressed,;

'as addressed' = to you, at your address.
