Estate agent dodgy dealings..... Things just not adding up.

Options
Hi there, I'm hoping for some opinions and advice please, on a situation I'm in with an estate agent, who I'm buying a flat off of.
Basically there were a few flats in the same block being sold off as part of the esate of an investor who passed away. It is their family selling the flats through an agent. I'm very confused as these flats are in a price range of 115 to 125, but I was told the vendor is looking for 120, and along the lines of if youre going to offer less, dont bother viewing. ii went to view and decieded to make an offer on one of them, of 118 and was instantly told at 9.30 the following morning that someone had already offered more that morning, so I felt obliged to offer the 120 that I knew they were looking for. mine had sold put up on right move. I then saw two of the others that were supposedly sold still on rightmove as available. After my daughter making enquiries, I find out that the vendor wants to keep the other properties on Incase higher offers come in although has accepted offers on the properties, of 117, I don't know if tis is the truth or the agent just saying this. So I feel I've been lied to to push me up price wise, whereas other people's offers of lower have been accepted. Outside the flats they all have sold boards up, so I'm confused who is doing the dirty, the agent or the vendor? Or what's going on?I really want to challenge it, but the agent I've been dealing with is quite quick tempered and has attitude. I feel quite intimidated by him. I really want to buy this flat and don't want to loose it. Any suggestions welcomed please

  • Sorry for a messy post, but this is my first post:o. Ignore the bit that says I'm not sure if the agent is just saying this, as I had added and deleted bits and that got left in. But I mean, I'm not sure whether an offer had even been made that morning on my one, as with the others being still available it makes me doubtful. These flats are identical, give or take half a foot here and there in different rooms but the overall floor space is the same, slightly different kitchen layouts etc.
    thank you x

given the number of people involved there is bound to be some confusion
if you are not happy you can always revise your offer or walk away.

If it were me I'd just go back to ea & say as I've heard offers of £117k have been accepted I want to reduce my offer in light of this. You do have to be prepared to either walk away if they say no or stick with your £120k offer if you really do want the flat.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
