Which weedkiller

I've quite a large gravelled area to spray (some of it's worn a bit thin allowing quite a foothold for grasses etc) Maybe 15 litres in a sprayer if using Weedol.

Which is usually better, Weedol or Pathclear? I reserve Roundup-type weedkiller for nettles/brambles as its so expensive.

I have never used weedol, and I used Pathclear once, and whilst it ultimately did the job, I wasn't fantastically impressed as it needed a respray fairly soon after (and I sprayed in all the right conditions etc). Therefore, in this situaion I have always used the concentrated round-up (you can use it at a weaker strength if mixing your own, dependant on the type of weeds you are tackling) - I know that it works!

Would be interested in others' opinions esp of weedol.

I used to use sodium chlorate on my old gravel drive simply because of the cost of weedol. It worked ok and was very cheap. Just have to keep it away from the garden though.

I agree with the sodium chlorate for gravel

Wilkinsons was selling it reduced, not sure if still on offer

Just don't chuck you fag end on the drive too soon after using it, it is flammable :D

    Thanks Farway,
I'll bear that in mind - luckily i've given up the evil weed, just have to make sure no-one else throws one down, though my OH has decided to give up and has a course of Champix from the doc to start this very night.............. :j :j :D :T

There's no Wilkinsons round these parts, but I'll find sodium chlorate from somewhere!
