Has anyone done London 'The Original Bus Tour' using tesco deals?

Hi!
We're looking at going down to London for the day and doing the Original Bus Tour which is available with clubcard deals. The t&c state:
Present your
The Original Tour
tockens with a member of the
Original Tour sales
staff on the day of travel. You are recommended to visit
one of the main departure points to redeem the tokens:
•
Trafalgar Square, at
the
Original London Visitor Centre at 17
-
19 Cockspur Street
•
Whitcomb Street, at Piccadilly Circus
•
Grosvenor Gardens, at Victoria
•
Woburn Place, at Russell Square
As we are arriving on the train and we're only there for the day, we want to be organised and not waste time. If we get in to Euston, do we then have to make our own way to one of the above places (will have to work out where's closest/easiest to get to) and exchange the tokens for tickets, before we can get on the tour? I've noticed that there is a black route for trains, but I don't know if this can be used on our way back to the trains or if we have to make our own way back to Euston once we're finished with the tour. Has anyone else done it and has any advice or tips?

Woburn Place/Russell Square is nearest, maybe a 2 minute walk from Euston, depending on where the actual stop is. Upper Woburn Place is the road between Russell Square and Euston Road.
I would imagine you'll have to make your own way to one of the listed stops and your own way back to Euston. How else would you imagine things would work? That the bus will make a special detour via Euston?
This isn't the only open-top tour of the city - city sightseeing operate two routes as the 'big bus tours', one with commentary, one without.0 -

Yes, of course I expected the bus to detour for us and every other tourist pouring in(!) Really, I wondered if the black train route which they ran buses on accepted the tokens as proof as payment for the tour and were included in the price, or if we had to pay separately to use these thus making our own way there.
Thanks though.0 -
Yes, just show the tesco vouchers on the bus. However, the connectors only run hourly and you could walk to the offcial ticket booth in about 5 mins, so prob not worth waiting for the connector0

Taking their black route from other parts of the city to Euston is a long way for a short cut, when the Woburn Place/Russell Square stop is so near to Euston anyway. Really, it's no more than 5 minutes or so away. Look at a real map, not the stylised one on their website0

As an aside, I have used the Tesco vouchers for this several times and I can really recommend it. Make time for the riverboat trip (included). Try to get on a coach with the live commentary - the guides are really knowledgeable and friendly. A tip is quite acceptable.
During the winter month the ticket is valid for 48 hours instead of 24, and then then allows time for the free walks - Rock and Roll, Jack the Ripper etc.
You have made a wise choice using Tesco vouchers and I am sure that you will have a great time."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"

Hiya, I did a day trip to London this week. I took my house guests to see the sights.
We bought travel cards = train and underground pass.
Like most of my visitors top of the list is to see Buckingham palace and changing of the guard at 11am. Walk along the Themes and seeing the wheel and Big Ben.
The tower of London and tower bridge.
Lots of hopping on the underground and lots of walking.
Take plenty of drinks and packed lunch.
Have a great dayThe secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Thanks for the tips! If anyone had been on recently, do you know what time the buses run until? On the website it just says it depends on the season, looking on trip advisor I've seen that at some times the last bus is at 4:50pm so I'm hoping it's later than that as we only get in to London at 1:30pm and leave that night.0

The bus tour is really a whole day thing, jf you want to see the sights. Based on the hours you have free it would be better to just get a normal bus around town. Ok you dont get any commentary, but it would be a waste of your tesco vouchers to use them on the tour (swap for a restaurant to eat at, while youre there maybe)
The times of the last bus are shown on the website under departure points.0 -
Thanks, I'll have a look again on the site. We've already got the tickets, so will have to use them now. It's my fault for assuming they'd be running til night over the holidays.0

Looks like the yellow tour has it's last tour at 8pm, so that's fab. Thank you!0
