    I honestly can't see the MSE upside to crowd funding. Of course there is the altruistic angle to consider.

    For a similar level of risk, VCT's are a much more appropriate product, given their tax efficiency. However, VCT's are usually most appropriate for high net worth investors.
    In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

    Every offering on Crowdcube has a video and a clear, concise pitch, so anyone that is reasonably financially savy can make a fairly informed judgement.

    How on earth can anybody make an informed financial decision based on a video. An absurd claim.

    There's a slightly different crowdfunding scheme for movies seedrs.com where you actually hold a real stake in the success of the film, not just a 'donation' for a 'reward'.

    No promises that the projects on there have got guaranteed results though, and frankly software and film are such risky investments you'd be mad to do it without a tax incentive, but there we go - it may suit some!
