How long does Cheap Energy Club take?

I switched from separate NPower quarterly payments to Dual Fuel Direct Debits using the Cheap Energy Club. The only reason I didn't go direct was the cashback offer.

That was the 8th July, now on the 23rd it is still showing as processing and there are no contact details. NPower say they have had no contact about changing the package.

What point is £30 cashback if it takes them weeks/months to switch?

Does anyone know how long it should take or if there are contact details so I can find out more?

You should not use Cheap Energy Club to switch to npower. Higher cashback rates are available with them from cashback sites (usually £50 to £100). The Cheap Energy Club should just be used as a comparison service - do not use them for the actual switch unless you are feeling benevolent.

I am not sure of the terms - but I suspect that changing tariff with your existing supplier will not qualify for cashback in the first place - it will only be provided where you change supplier. (It is "up to £30" they offer - £0 is covered by that condition).

How long does it take to switch energy supplier?

Switching can take up eight weeks to take place. But don't worry, you won't lose your supply during this time. It should be a seamless handover from one provider to the other. All that's really changing is the billing, not the actual gas and electricity that you're being supplied.

It knows your details when you get the comparison and mentions the £30 cash back.

I thought MSE was all about saving yourself from these sort of things... And the 8 weeks is up to 8 weeks, I'd have thought from being with NPower already it would be simple and take a couple of days (I'm sure somewhere it said you'd hear within 10l working days).

Anyway, would the cash back non switching thing not be the case for all cash back sites?

Am I able to cancel the switch? Or would just going and doing it direct have any negative impact?

I doubt you'll get any cashback transferring tariff with the same supplier.

You'd be better off calling nPower directly - they'll probably transfer you whilst you are on the phone. :)

    Edit:
Change your gas and/or electricity supplier and receive up to £30 cash back!

What made you think you'd be entitled to cashback if you don't change supplier???

I've got similar trouble. I started my switch (to EDF) on 21st June and have heard nothing. I've chased with the club several times and was advised to contact EDF's complaints department to try and speed things up. They have no records of my application.

Trying again to email the Club I'm now being ignored. I've now reverted to standard pricing from my supplier (from 1st August) and can't get any further.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get the switches working?

All I want to know is can I just go with NPower and switch tariffs or will some point down the line will the Energy Club try to switch things and screw up my account as they're crap.

NPower still have no communication from them and that's weeks down the line, complete joke.
