What happens if I get back with my ex

Hi
I hope you can help me I split up with my ex in November last year after 10 years together we have a baby together and as he has good job and I also work we didn't claim wtc or ctc but after we split up I claimed them which is fine. What my question is what would happen if down the line at some point we got back together not right now but we are discussing it. Obviously I would inform the tc straight away thats not the problem but I read somewhere that I would be liable to repay all the tax credits I had received this year is this true?
They know that we both have our own seperate places bills etc as when I first claimed they passed it on for investigation and had to have all kinds of proof - so thats fine aswell. It's just well to be honest I couldn't afford to pay it all back and although we haven't made a decision one way or the other this is weighing on my mind.
Sorry for the long post rambling on first post ever!!!

no you wouldnt have to pay back the whole year. You would only pay back any you will have received whille you are a couple. SO if you wait a month before ringing, you repay back to the date you got back together. No One I Think Is In My Tree.:cool:0

Thank you thats OK then as was only worried about repaying from the beginning of the year. At least that is one less problem to work out in our discussions.0
