Grrrr SSE
In december last year i moved into my new flat. We had decided to upgrade the Consumer unit and some of the storage heaters. The previous owners had a card meter fitted and we wanted that removed.
Weighing everything up we decided to go with THTC. Thats when the problems started:mad: The engineers came and hcanged the supply into the flat and changed the meters, he gave us a card with the meter readings on it. Everyhting had been set up over the phone direct debit etc.
I had been checking my online banking and noticed that no direct debits had been taken out for the electricity. I contacted SSE. I was informed that I still had a Prepay meter and was in credit by £5?. After much waiting and getting transfered to just about everyone at SSE, it finally looked as i was getting somewhere, an engineer would be out in the morning to verify the connection and the meter. The engineer arrived (the same one who had fitted itto begin with). He made a phone call and said it was all sorted.
Despite numerous phonecalls and emails, I still havent paid for any electricity since december!!, today i recieved a phonecall to say an engineer would have to come out and inspect the equipment before they can sort out this mess.
Sometimes you wonder why you bother :wall:

It actually sounds like the Meter Operators haven't told SSE they changed the meter or SSE haven't acted on the information the Meter Operator has given them about the change to your heating system.
You said the consumer unit and storage heaters were upgraded, was the original PPM a standard E7 meter?? From what i can remember a THTC requires an additional supply number. Nothing to do with you but this might be the cause of the problem, saying that it shouldn't take 8 months to work it out.0
