Drainage search advice

Hi to all would appreciate the advice, searches come back on a property the garage has a manhole in it the solicitor says the man hole serves about 3 houses would I be able to do a double storey extension? I dont want to but if i cant.Thanks in advance

    If it’s a shared drain its now owned by the sewerage company (and therefore they are responsible for maintenance) and any building work will require their consent.

    And Water companies haven't generally updated their plans to show all the former private sewers that they took over automatically ion that date.

    In my area I know of roads where it is pretty obvious they still haven't recorded all the sewers they got stuck with in 1937!

    Hi yes that's right I rang Yorkshire water & they said its not in there records but the searches show that it's not connected to a public sewer, I'm lost what does this mean don't mean to sound silly but I really don't have a clue I just want to know if I can do an extension
