problem opening hyperlinks in Outlook emails

Using Outlook for email and havent made any changes recently. In the last couple of days when I click on a hyperlink in an email (eg to a new forum post) a dialogue box pops up trying to open as an exe file. when I cancel that box, Firefox opens the link properly.
Its really annoying as it happens every time, not just MSE forum but on myscrapbooking forums too.
I had a problem last week with the new firefox update, and wonder if this is connected in any way.
All suggestions gratefully received.

... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Hm, think I might have solved this myself. Seem it couldnt find the browser, so I just pointed to Firefox exe in the address bar of the dialogue box and it seems to work ok now. Probably another issue from the recent firefox update... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
