Installing a blind

Can anyone point me to any online resources that can help with installing a venetian blind? The instructions weren't very good and hubby says he can't find anything useful on youtube. He wants to pay someone to install a blind that cost £8.

Thank you.
Yaz.

What make is the blind? Installation methods do vary, if I can see the instructions I may be able to clarify.

Also need to know whether you are fitting inside window recess or not.

The window is not recessed. The blind is from Wilkinson. I don't have the instructions with me at the moment.

Does it have two brackets things 3 is if a wide blind. Basically you fasten these to a batten above windows and blind goes in and use two slot things to stop blind coming out. This is what the VB I have had are fitted

Generally, the fixings will be either right at the ends, of a few cm in.

I suggest you place the fixings on the head of the blind so you can see exactly how they fit in relation to the blind header.

Then, with them in place, offer it up to where it will sit, so you can see which fixing holes you need to use.

If it is to be face fixed above the window, a batten will ensure it does not foul the wall or any window handles.

Mark where the top of the blind will go and fit a wooden batten to the wall (if there is not one there already) then screw the brackets to the batten.

A picture of your window would ensure you are being given the correct advice.
