What type of shower would be the most cost efficient?

Money savers,
Our bathroom needs a shower. What type of shower would be the most cost efficient in the long run?
We have a combi boiler that runs on gas and was installed about a year ago. We also have a box for an electric shower already fitted to the wall, as depicted in the link. We also have separate hot and cold taps on the bath.
Pictures of our bathroom with details of the inside of the electric box are here: imgur.com/a/tsDYO#0
I know that there are eco-friendly shower heads that will reduce the water flow and keep running costs down while still giving a good shower. Would it be possible to put an eco head on a mixer shower? Would that be our best bet?
Would be most grateful for any advice on whether to get a mixer type shower, or an electric one, principally with regard to the running costs.

Any shower run off your gas boiler, since electricity is about 3 times more per kWh.
However there is a case to be made for an electric shower in that it will still function if your boiler is out of service. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Only shower every 4 days, 25% of the cost, (but you will use 50% of your friends).;);)
I'm going to show my age and compare to when I was 0 to 7 years of age.
We had the traditional 2 up 2 down house in a mining terrace, bathnight was sunday only, me and me bro shared the tin bath in front of the fire.
I was older so got the 1st dabs.
We didn't die of dysentry or similar:D:D:DI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Well I'll put it down to your age and answer seriously.
All mining villages were the same, there were row upon row of 2 up, 2 down terraces
You had 2 bedrooms, a kitchen/dining room and a frontroom or parlour, call it what you will.
The only toilet was an outside privvy built in a little block with the neighbours.
They did not have bathrooms, tin bath was the norm until gradually usually in the late 50's they got extended.
Monty pythonesque Stooby??? quite possibly:D
In answer to your original question has to be gas, unless you have the misfortune to have a very long dead leg and a combi boiler.
There we go, Monty strikes againI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
