Unusual spicy heady smell?!

Hello!
Does anyone know what a strange spicy, heady and slightyl earthy smell radiating from my storage room could be?
I'm sure its not a dead animal or natural gas.

I considered dry rot but everyone says 'mushroomy' smell, its definately not mushroomy, its a very strange spicy scent.

Anyone have any clues?

is your storage room an internal room in your house or an outbuilding as in a shed?

could it just be that you need to give it a good clear out and clean

Its internal, its only smelt like this for 6 months or so.

I really hate the smell of waccyb so i could tell if it was that from a mile off!

I'm going to clean it out/lift the carpet later today.
