Samsung bluetooth headset problem

Hope you can help.
Got the headset for my wife to use with iphone4s. Paired it no problem. However, she has a problem in that while she can hear clearly, the other person gets a garbled voice. sometimes it can be clear but it is too often a problem. Is there anything i can do to make it work 100%? She uses it around the house or when out. Signal is not a problem, I think.
