Hi,
Don't know if anyone can help me have booked last week to go away this week, package holiday flights and hotel, due to fly in 2 days time. ( It wasn't cheap. )
Currently have a stomach bug awaiting Drs appointment this morning, thought it might have gone by now, no such luck!
Has anyone else been in this situation, don't really know what to do?
Its a special holiday too, but I don't want to go and end up in hospital.
Thanks

i am no expert but your doctor should advise you if you do have a bug if you are fit to fly, if he says not you hopefully will be able to claim off your travel insurance.
my own family have recently had tummy bugs that are going around, they were fine after 48hrs0 -
I have got a telephone appointment, with a locum, so will wait and see would love to go away but don't want it to get worse...0

If I were you, I'd be getting my insurance policy out and reading through it, just to be sure I know what I'm covered for.
Also (and if applicable), making sure I've got my EHIC ready.
I hope it's good news and you can go and enjoy your holiday.

Thanks Pollycat, I have got my EHIC card am going to Spain though and have read issues with using those cards...and insurance, although its all gobbledygook to me.
I hope so too!0 -
We are in a similar situattion so really feel for you - not sure what we are going to do. We fly to the US 7 days today, oh has been ill since Sunday with some sort of infection (drs description). Raging temperature, swolen throat, no voice, congestion. He was prescribed antibiotics yesterday, then son started last night so i took him to out of hours and got same meds but same dosage! Turns out despit telling drs that we go away in 7 days, oh has been given childs dosage (grrr). We are back at drs thursday without fail if oh is no better (son is nowhere near as bad).
I'm just praying that (a) both get better and can fly, and (b) me and daughter dont start with it!0 -
I spoke with the Dr who told me to get over the counter tablets, wish I had taken them earlier.
Drinking lots of fluids and hopefully will feel better, I have booked a hotel to stay nearer to airport tonight. If not it just means getting up extra early, at least I can have a relax on holiday....
Hope you manage to get away too missimaxo0
