Best way to take spending money to tenerife

Hi hope you can help, it has been many years since i have been abroad and back then took small amount of money and travelers cheques, don't think these are used much now, so could someone suggest what is the best option for rates and low commission

Failing that ICE International GBP £ Travellers Cashcard
When using ATMs abroad always choose to be charged in the local currency.

I've just got back from Spain where I found one ATM which had a notice stuck to it in English "To avoid nasty surprises on your statement make sure that you accept the option to be charged in pounds."

Very cheeky, I thought as I pressed the "charge in Euros" button.

Cash. Deffo the best way.

Prepaid card comes second best, as it isn't as convenient, but if taking cash make sure your hotel room comes with a safe.

I always use my FairFX euro prepay card. It has pretty good exchange rates and there is a link from this site somewhere that will get you the card for free.
