Scheduled Forum Downtime Tues 23, Fri 26 – Sun 28 July 2013 (123)


Hi everyone

We’ve some periods of scheduled forum downtime coming up in the next week.

Why are we doing this?

We're shifting to a new system which should be faster and will help our forum. With a project as big as this though there may be some teething problems in the first week or so afterwards so please bear with us, your patience really will be appreciated.

For the techies among you, we’re migrating the forum to a new server.

When will this happen?

• From approx 12.30am Tues 23 July the forum will be unavailable for around two to three hours.
• From 7pm on Fri 26 July the forum will be unavailable for around three hours, then will go into "read-only" mode until Sunday 28 July (earlier if possible!)

NB In "read-only" mode you’ll be able to read the Forum but not join or log in, post, thank, send PMs etc. Buttons that normally allow this eg thanks, reply etc won’t be visible.

no, it's read only

(& before anyone jumps down my throat, yes, MSE is the best one in my humbles


just remember which ones you've entered from them so's you don't duplicate yourself when mse is back up with comps
