    Doesn't mention gullibility.

    Well said, sir!

I'm thinking about renting the very same property and offering the landlord £750 a month. Would I be being discriminated against?

Short answer no not for the rent itself.

I rent for 660pcm a neighbour rents identical house or 280pcm other neighbour rents for 420pcm these are very long lets from an estate who just don't put up rent in line with market value and over time this is the result. New tenants in these properties are being asked for 800+ so I am getting a good deal compared to market rent. This isn't discrimination it's market segregation and not worth getting upset over. We're you happy with your rent before you found this out? If so the what is the problem now if not then move?
People pay different prices for the same item all the time look at airline tickets as an example it's your job to get the best price for everything not depend on other people to sacrifice their profit to help you out.
