I have one credit card, no other debts. Sometimes I use card up to my limit and pay double the minimum amount every month by direct debit. When it suits me I pay off the balance and the card allowance is £1250. If several months go by without me paying off the whole amount LLoyds TSB call me to take out a loan to pay it off. I say no because having the debit on the card keeps my spending in check and I pay the balance off when suits me. However when I say this they the insist I pay it off in full? Why? I have no other credit cards, no loans anywhere and all my bills have always been paid on time. I don't even have a mortgage and money goes into my current account every month. I have always been a good debtor so that if I ever want a loan one day it will be easy to get. So why are they behaving like this. The woman involved keeps calling me and I'm avoiding her as I don't want a loan. Can they hassle me this way? What would they do if I was really in debt! I have had several loans when I was younger and have never had to miss a payment.

Possibly, CCs can do this in theory, but in practice they never do this. This women is pulling a fast one trying to sell you a loan. I would go one step further.
If the Op has already told them NO. Then answer the phone and if they go through the same sales pitch.
Simply say "I'M raising a complaint NOW" On the basis you have already been told NO.
As such I require a response form the customer relations team about your failure to act on MY instructions.
They will have to act on this.
If they fail to log the complaint and resolve it to OP's satisfaction. Then it can go to FOS/FCA. Who will be most interested in this sales pitch.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
I find an email to their complaints team is very effective and they usually give me a £15 compensation payment.0
