accident prone children!

Recently dd has had barely a week go by without injury, I've even had a call from the school nurse enquiring after her as we've been to a and e so frequently. Tbh she's only needed a minor injurys clinic but there isnt one locally I can afford to get to so a and e it is.
Nothing broken but suspected of being so, therefore x rays have been taken and im not too keen on her having so many but if there a possibilty of a break then it has to be done.
Im also worried about being an over protective mother or even accused of doing stuff to her, it happens so often.
In the last few months shes had a sprained wrist (fell on it in same way as she broke it a few yrs bk) sprained ankle ( no idea how, just when out playing but couldnt walk on it for a week, walking to school was fun lol) ripped toenail where she caught it getting out a pool. Squished fingers in door x3 ( really must teach her what a handle is for!) And now she has a bruised foot where her foot got jammed underneath a door ( yup door again, she really doesnt like them lol)
Ive beeen tryimg to make her walk on it but it just hurts and she didnt play out tonite so off to get that looked at tomorrow, im expecting another phone call......
Does anyone else have a child like mine or am I just unlucky lol
:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly :D

Having four children it seemed that we spent time at the local A & E every bank holiday weekend - so much so that we thought we ought to have our own seats ...we knew exactly where on the shelves our records would be :D!

DGS seemed to be following the family tradition to extremes - several trips to hospital as a baby with bronchiolitis (in a country where english was not first language) - then breaking his hip at age 6 (boogie boarding) , followed by his wrist (the day after he was given the all-clear to play sports again) then collar bone, then ankle after taking up rugby like his dad & uncles... ....DGD no 3 seems to do the same - broken tibia - trampoline - ankle (rounders) arm (netball) ....etc etc etc!

You have my sympathy. Have you had her eyesight checked? My son used to be really accident prone, then we found he was as blind as a bat! His dad took him kayaking, said "paddle towards that triangle of rock over there on the riverbank." My son said "dad, it's just all grey rocks" and that was when we realised how bad he was. :)

    How old is your daughter?
Clearly many of the injuries she has sustained are normal childhood injuries, also I assume she is of an age where she can vocalise what happened to her to medical staff = less concern to professionals. If when visiting A&E she had said mummy pushed me down the stairs and I landed funny on my wrist, well that's a totally different matter. Clearly this is not the case, please don't worry too much.

jeez hun - I spent so much time down our local hospital I was on first name terms with the staff! if they had frequent flyer miles I could have flown round the world!
for one thing - A&E staff are good at recognising 'accidents' - if they have doubts they will speak to the child on their own. they know some kids go through a period of - for want of a better word' ungainliness'.
they may ask to speak to you - just tell the truth. they may ask what safety measures you take - again, tell the truth. they aren't ogres and they don't want to call in social services if the child is just accident prone.
they may want to make you aware of measures you could perhaps take to reduce the accidents or perhaps refer the child on to another specialist to see if there is some underlying cause. a child on the ASD spectrum can be especially prone because they are so impulsive.
I know how 'guilty' you can feel when you are yet again sat in A&E! but, accidents do happen - with some kids more than others!
