If your into books etc its great but for all rounder look towards a nexus 70

For a "non technical user", particularly someone who uses Amazon it's great.
It is very good value for the hardware quality and the overall experience is reasonable.
If you think what is primarily a media consumption device would be limiting perhaps a Nexus 7 or iPad Mini might be a better choice.
