Hi all
my OH and I took the advice on the website and sent letters out to a few areas that we are interested in buying a home in. We are currently still gathering our deposit at the moment and have 10k so far of a planned 20k. We are saving 1k a month. We sent the letters out stating that we are looking to buy in around 12-14 months time. We were not expecting any fast responses however we had a few and one in particular is a home we really liked the look of in our ideal location. Now the reason I'm posting is that we were quite unprepared for the swift response we got and so would appreciate some advice on what to do now. We have been exchanging text messages with the owner of the particular house that we like and she has said that we can go and have a look around and discuss things further if we want to. I have agreed that we will arrange this however am unsure of what to do/expect from this point. Obviously we are a little while away from actually considering purchasing but the owner is aware of this and has said that if we do like it she is happy to wait.
Oh and we are first time buyers!
Thanks

providing the owners are aware of you time-frame, what's the problem?0

Just what the next steps are if we decide we do want to buy it. Protecting us etc.Jan 2019 Wins:Cinema projector worth £500Feb 2019 Wins: £50 Miller & Carter Voucher, Co2 Monitor, Tickets to the Photography show0

Nip down to your local library and borrow a book on house-buying. It will explain the whole process. Better than me trying to replicate a book here!
The process for you is no different - just no estate agent. And a longer time-frame.0 -

I am not sure what you mean buy protecting you, until you have exchanged contracts in the same way as any other sale your purchase will not be protected ( are you in England?)
Having given the sellers the idea to move they will either happily stick with you or they will decide to move, market with an EA and find a buyer who can move faster, there is little you could do to stop them apart from being nice pele who they want to do buisness with.
Go and look, be nice, smile and say you love their house, explain your circumstances and maybe they will be happy with the timescales!0
