Billcutters

Options
Has anyone had any experience with this company. They are trying to get me to switch electricity/gas companies saying I would get a better deal with the one they suggest, however, they want all sorts of personal info which I am tired of giving, would rather give to the energy company than to some third party.
I would appreciate if you could share any thoughts on them.

Not heard of them, I'd suggest doing your own research with a switching site. These firms are not philanthropists they will want there cut.

    Hello seawolfshoreham,

To me it sounds like Billcutters are an Electricity/Gas brokerage who will offer you a varied amount of rates but will always then try to place you with one supplier who they receive most commission off therefore I wouldn't advise giving these people your business.

What I would advise from a professional opinion would be to deal direct with suppliers, I would ring your current supplier and see what they would offer you on a renewal price, then take that price and go to other suppliers and see if they will beat the price.

This is just a bog-standard comp site.
OP, you don't need ot give any info other than your annual kWh consumption and your postcode. Any comp site will do this calculation for you online in seconds. Which, energyhelpline, etc.

    What, no cashback?

Here's half a dozen or so that do :)

    Edit:
Doesn't even seem to be acredited by Ofgem
    http://www.ofgem.gov.uk/domestic-consumers/compare-with-confidence/Pages/index.aspx

    AVOID!

Edit2: It actually seems to be jusat an affliliate site to energylynx.
Use the MSE link to trouser the cashback yourself rather than provide it to this affiliate :)

No longer work in the telesales aspect of it haha, I forgot I'd even made a linkedin profile! haha, I work as a manager now, obviously can't state the company I work for though!

    That's the only reason I know a little bit about electricity/gas :)

Oh well, at least you're honest about it. :)

Still, as Richie said, there's no need to ask for PMs. By posting on the forum you're not only helping out members with any problems but the legions of non-members who look at these forums on a regular basis.
