Hi, I would love some advice if anyone has any pearls of wisdom...
I have a padded jacket for a baby that I have sold on ebay. I have tried to squeeze as much air out of the parcel as possible but Royal Mail still wanted £5.60 to post!!
I have brought it back home but it needs to go in todays post. I have repacked it in a different bag and used parcel tape but every time I look at it, it's filling back up with air again
Any ideas so I can get it to fit into the £2.60 price bracket?
Thanks

Small Parcels...Up to 1 Kg = £2.60
Up to 2 Kg = £5.60
If it is volume then I have used a vacuum cleaner to remove the air from a poly bag....or cling film wrapped tighter and tighter to reduce size.0 -
Try squeezing it into a smaller bag? I am forever pushing air out of my parcels to get them to fit through as large letters!
RegWorts it used to be weight, now it's size too...
Small parcel @ £2.60: 450 x 350mm and max thickness 80mm Max weight 2kg0 -
Stick it in a used cereal packet and put some books on top of it, as long as its thinner than 8cm. The flat boxes you get new clothes in are ideal but thats not much good if you've not bought any new clothes lately!
And give it a good squeeze before you give it to the post office!

Try putting a smallish hole in the bag, then the address label over the hole, the air will come out if you keep pressing it.
Otherwise your next option is Hermes or Collect+ which is cheaper than the Post Office, approximately 4.20.0 -

Don't squeeze it into anything tightly, it won't end well when the buyer slices through the coat trying to open it. Take the hit and get your postage costs right next time.0

Thanks everyone for the helpful tips :T
I couldn't find a box small enough so tried wrapping it in clingfilm before putting it into the parcel bag and it worked a treat! I just posted it for £2.60 :beer:0 -
