Hi, has anyone got any ideas for getting pomegranate juice out of a shirt? All I've been able to find is "wash the stain out immediately with water" it's gone past the point of immediately so has anyone got any magic remedies?
Pretty please!

Well it's not very OS but I know a lot of people swear by vanish stain removal stick/bar. But first why not try something to lift off the stain like a thick paste of bicarb and some club soda? Leave it on for 5-10 min then scrub off with an old toothbrush and some more soda.0

Thanks Kittykate, I'll try the bicarb first but might have to pop down to the shops for some Vanish later. Fingers crossed for the bicarb!Light bulb moment Feb 2014! Total debt then £17,497.64

I used Vanish prewash spray to remove strawberry stains from my grandaughters t shirt the other day and it the stains actually went as I watched. I was really impressed.0

I've just splattered someone's brand new white cotton shirt whilst squeezing a fresh pomegranate and the juice has stained it!!!
I've put it straight into cold water with the tiny remains of washing soda I had left in a box but it's turned blue rather than get rid of the stain _pale_
Any ideas how I can get rid of the stain please? Trust me, my life won't be worth living unless I can get it all out“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Don't panic! I regularly stain things with pomegranate juice.:o Turning blue is the first stage in removal:D Just treat with a little dab of washing up liquid, or any stain remover, then wash as normal. I've never had it not wash out. I truly believe it's a stain that looks more impressive and permanent than it is;)You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

I always put cold water on stains and work in a bit of washing up liquid until the stain is nearly lifted and then i pop into the wash as normal...it seems to work for me on a number of things ie died blood, spag bog sauce etc0

If it's white can you soak it in a bleach and washing powder solution? I do this for all white things - my youngest ds (10) had a white cotton England shirt last summer & it spent as much time soaking in bleach as it did on his back LOL!0

I swear by Napisan for all stains - it is the same as Vanish oxy action but with a different name0

I spilt pomegranate juice on a really nice white blouse last week and I tried to wash it out and it stained blue. I soaked the whole garment in diluted bleach and it came out! Ive done it again today on an orange t shirt and am now soaking it in vanish. Its my favourite top as well. Here's hoping!😬0

I'm another fan of cheap-brand free Milton and neat star drops with neat washing up liquid on stains.
Clothes whitener is great too. I always open the sachets and use less. They work on loads of things other than net curtains!
Depending on the fabric and it's original colour redying can work.
Best of luck x0
