Hi everyone,
Am currently on the entertainment extra with hd pack and pay approx £36 per month. OH's daughter has just signed up and is getting all that for around £15 per month, half what I'm paying. Tried appealing to Sky's better nature but the best they could offer was 10% off, not too impressive!!!
To be honest, we only tend to watch a core set of channels most if not all of which are available on Freeview although It's just nice to have the option of the other channels just in case something is on.
Was looking at BT Vision as we have infinity already. It looks like they have some extra channels above and beyond normal freeview e.g. Fox, GOLD etc. Has anyone here got BT Vision already? Is it any good?
Thanks
Rob

The ad says + line rental under The Legal stuff .
BT Broadband for new customers from £10 a month (plus line rental £15.45 a month) Terms apply. Please check bt.com/sport for details.
The fact that to take out Infinity meant my BR line rental would go up by over £2 a month meant i went to Plus Net .

My former housemate cancelled sky and got BT vision while I lived with him and it was an awful experience. He still has it, and even though it's better, it still doesnt look great to use.
Ring sky and tell them how much of a better deal you can get elsewhere. Get a quote from Virgin too, if Sky want your custom they'll bend over backwards to keep you.
I had BT infinity but found they were limiting speeds during normal awake hours so cancelled and got sky broadband in with my sky tv package, saved me quite a lot of monies...0 -
thanks guys.
no go with sky broadband unfortunately as it hasnt been enable properly at our exchange. have no probs with the infinity, even with the odd slowdown it is still a sh*t load quicker than anything we have ever had before.
@wba31, can't get virgin either where we are (in the sticks) otherwise i'd probably go with them. i feared bt vision would be not so good. i've see some reviews around and it does sound a little hit and miss.
have tried ringing sky already but they werent that interested. I have sent them a cancellation email last night, will see if anything comes of that.
failing sky helping me it looks like i might just buy a freeview hd recorder. movies for the kid are sorted as we get now tv thru the ps3, music vids for me are sorted with vidzone, might just have to wait longer to watch walking dead as freeview doesnt have fox tv
thanks again!Useful is beautiful0 -
There is no company in the UK spending more on advertising at the present time. It's everywhere.
Doesn't start properly till the 1 August., I read somewhere in the speel.
We'll see how their servers handle the load from all those millions watching a football match, almost live...
4G is scaring the hell out of them.0 -
instead of going with BT Vision have you thought about FreeSat?
If you don't have a dish you can get one put up for around the £60 mark. You get a lot more channels then FreeView and without the added cost of BT Vision.

Thanks guys.
Have decided to stick with sky for the time being as they were able to give me a decent discount on my monthly bill.
Still may look at BT Vision in the future, it can only get better surely!Useful is beautiful0
