Some how I have managed to pick up webcake on my pc, it seems that it is not a virus but it is very annoying and I want to get rid of it
I have tried ad-aware and malwarebytes but they both failed to get rid of it.
My pc is running XP and i use firefox as my main browser.
Please help, it's driving me mad!
Thanks..

It will also be eradicated by spybot, I managed to get it the other day from a download on CNET though don't ask me how lol
Thinking about it, it is probably because they stuff their pages full of random ads designed to confuse you"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0 -
I stopped using CNET / download.com after i tried downloading AVG for someone. AVG directed to the CNET site which wanted me to use their installer.
No option to download directly.
No way was i going to use the CNET installer with all its bundled crapware.
Shame because it used to be a good site.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
oh forgotmyname it only takes a little bit of cleverness to avoid the spamware. just untick the boxes, and cancel out of any additioanl installs.
spybot, ccleaner (which will unsitall your programs for you and clean registry etc), and avast get me through life fairly well. Of course, I keep some cavalry in reserve!0
