just go and see what they need to see you about, if it is a work focus interview and you don't you could find yourself sanctioned until you do go.
    mustn't grumble

my freind got a letter saying that a 'customer compliance officer' will be coming out on xxth date. he came and some1 had said that her ex was living there, she said no he isnt. (he was as it happens) the next letter was the same but she had to go down to see them and she got a taped interview and later that year got done for fraud!

everytime ive had a work focus interview the letter has said its a work focus interview.
but if you are ok with your claim thats nothing to worry about.

Compliance are checks to make sure that the benefit claim and the circumstances declared are correct.

If they are as you have stated when you made your claim and you have notified them of any changes that may affect you entitlement, you have nothing to worry about.

These checks are becoming more and more widespread.

right ok thanks, i had a work focused interview in march so it can't be that and they know i'm going to college in september.
so does everyone go to these compliance interviews or just people they are checking up on? nothing has changed in my situation.

As you are on I.S. the college won't be the issue.

It may just be a simple review.

Some people have reviews because the claim simply needs checking, eg a regular review after so many months of claiming.

Others have reviews because the Benefit system knows that something needs checking. You would be surprised just how many different computers talk to eachother !!

Ahh I wouldn't worry, they just like to harrass and/or worry us from time to time. Sorry, I should probably try to be kinder about these people but it's just not within my capabilities at present.

Anyhow, as others have said, they just want to make sure they understand your situation, what benefits you will be claiming etc. Just answer all their questions and they'll go away and leave you alone. Good luck at college.
