I'm going to the USA at the end of August and I wanted to know if I buy a pre-paid dollar card (fairfx) is my money safe ?
I know the rates can go up and down so when I buy is up to me ,you take the chance but I meant how safe is FairFx as a trading company if I buy today they wont go bust tomorrow? is there anyway of checking this/
Thanks for all help (its needed)

No way of knowing if a company will go bust.
I'd assume a big company like FairFX would be fine.0 -
I used to have an Amex prepaid dollar card, but they don't do them anymore. A lot of the prepaid cards have rubbish fx rates, and I worry that I would lose my money, £2k isn't exactly chump change that I wouldn't mind losing.
I don't know who FairFX are (I've heard of them, but I don't know what kind of finance company they are or how big they are) so I worry about them too.0 -

As I was saying to someone in another thread, there has been a bit of an uproar at American Express in the US about Travellers cheques as there have been really good fakes going around (Ones with all the security features) and American Express is refusing to the pay the shop if they are fake. So over the last couple of months and weeks a lot of shops have come to the decision to not accept them anymore.0
