Corulux clear plastic sheeting

I'm trying to fix some Corulux sheeting.
I've got all the bits and pieces and a brochure and watched a short Corulux video.
My problem is the fixing.
The spacer between the underside of the Corulux sheet isn't long enough for the depth of the standard Corulux 77/20 sheet and its use isn't shown on the brochure or the video.
If I just use the foam as the filler underneath the sheet and on top of the timber 'purlin' I don't need a spacer???? and I can understand how to fix it.
What is the plastic cylindrical hollow spacer for???

It's your money. Except if it's the governments.
