    Your washing machine or his?
It was abandoned by the previous tennant, so technically it doesn't belong to either. The landlord takes no responsability for it though, same with the other appliances. We have been told that we are welcome to do as we please with them, and either take or leave them when we decide to leave.

If its your machine then it looks like time for replacement anyway because it must be horribly uneconomic to run.
Actually, it is economical to run at the moment, as every wash is a cold wash! :D It uses 350Wh per cycle.

We don't really have the cash to replace it, so I guess it'll have to stay 'as is', and the same for the hot water taps.

Shame, would love to fill a washing up bowl in under 10 minutes. :D:D

Your washing machine should heat the water to what it needs, if it's not heating at all then there is a prob with the heater element or it's controls or wires, most new machines are cold fill only anyway, fitting a pump isn't really an option because it will empty the little header tank on top of the cylinder quicker than it can refill
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

I'd totally agree with that if he had mentioned a shower which he hasn't. Its only taps in bathroom and kitchen. A baby pump would help with that and not defeat the cold refill and I have seen it so elsewhere. If I can remember them I'll post up the details later but its a long time ago and yes no shower in that installation.

    Cheers

You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

It is a hot fill machine, therefore it has no heating element. Some hot fill machines may have had elements, but it was never a requirement.

This is the same conclusion I came to. I even looked into a Grundfos hot booster which is much lower power than a normal single impellar shower pump (5.5Bar instead of 2Bar), but I decided even this wasn't worth the risk.

I guess I'll just have to put up with the crappy solution we have. I'm guessing it was usedbecause it was cheap!

Yeah, we have a direct heated shower (from the mains), and no bath. It really is just a kitchen mixer tap and a bathroom wash basin tap.

I may still consider the Grundfos pump, but I really don't want to damage what is in the flat. I know that I can be trusted to not run the taps flat out for extended periods of time, and so can the OH, but I'm not so sure about our 4 year old!
