HELP Please

Hi all,

Need a little advise if possible please, have tried our accountant but he is useless!

We are in a lucky position to have our own business that Wife manages. She left her old career behind in February after finding it difficult to hold down a job and be involved in our babies life (21 mths now).

She has been managing our business since Feb 07, but as it is a new start business she has not been able to take a salary (currently it will not support paying her, although we do also have staff)..

My question is, Is she eligible for any form of monies in the way of credits or such like?

Her sister and husband were in a similar situation not so long back. we found out they worked 16 hours each and got some form of benefits.....our daughter is full time in nursery @ £600/mth....although we made the decision for her to leave her career in retail mangement to allow her to see our baby grow up, we are not sure as to if she should be claiming anything or if it was just a case of her sister and hubby were pulling some sort of scam?

cheers in advance of any help

Regards

Pete

    Hi

Have you tried ringing tax credits they should be able to help over the phone. I would imagine it would depend on how much income there is coming in on husbands wages etc.

Good luck. I have their number if you need it

    Lou,

Thanks for the post. To be honest when we called them whilst she was not working and pregnant with Baby they were not much help and we got lots of different answers from lots of diffrent people! not very good when this is their core business

Will hold out in the hope this great forum can point the way

    Regards

ok i know they can be a bit indecisive sometime (lol) sorry couldnt help anymore. Apparently though anyone bringing in under £66,000 should check what benefits they are entitled to
