Who do i complain to?

My dishwasher has packed up after just over 2 years. The water isnt heating up, and the dishes arent being dryed so i assume it is the element.

I havent got the reciept, although i know i can get proof of purchase from the bank as i paid with a debit card.

I have read the above sticky, but im still abit confused about what to do, and what i am entitled to. Do i go straight to Comet and ask them to fix it, or go to the Manufacturer. Will i be expected to pay

Please advise a 'non complainer'. I really could do without buying a new machine.:o

It all really depends on what Guarantee you got with the machine in the first place

Referring to the Sale of Goods act, i dont deem a dishwasher lasting 2 years as 'fit for purpose' The act also suggests that items should last for upto 6 years.

I wondered if anyone had pursued a similar matter, and if you were successful, who took responsibility?
