Hi all i need a bit of help i dont know what to do heres what happend

my partner and i put a claim in for housing benefit and council tax benefit we then got a reminder letter for council tax then we got a letter saying that we could have a £5 housing benefit and we could not have anything for council tax,so we then sat down and said ok we could pay £100 per month to help bring us up to date as we are behind,because we waited to see if we would get any help we are going to make the first payment at the end of this month.
I then got a letter this morning telling me that we are £216 behind with the council tax and i have to go to pay the full amount or go to court,and another letter saying that because we are on a low income we have been given £30 housing benefit Shoulndt we be able to get council tax benefit with housing benefit if we are on a low income?

I am going to see them tomorrow but i just wanted some advice so i know what to expect.

morning, you could perhaps try entitledto.co.uk it is a handy website that gives you a rough idea what you should be able to get. unfortunately there is no guarantee that you will get council tax benefit because you get housing benefit.:A

Hi thank you for the website i have just been on it and its got all the figures right what we get with ctc and housing benefit,it does say on there tho that we should get some council tax benefit so i will bring this up when i go tomorrow.
