Updating Kaspersky - not tech savvy!

Options
Just 1 day left of the 90 day trial version Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 preloaded onto a Windows 8 PC.
I have got a 1PC/1Year Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 from Argos today.

Do I just put this in the drive and run it? or do I have to faff about with the trial version.

Feel free to :rotfl: I know I probably would too!
My head is telling me to just put it in and get on with it, doh,
I haven't taken the wrapper off yet....

Not you just have to add the key. Open the Interface and perhaps in the bottom right hand corner it will have something to do with licence. Click on that and follow the prompts to add your licence. That's it.

Was really no need to buy it from Argos. if you haven't opened it, take it back and order it here for £6.77

Do you bank with Barclays? if so you can get it free from them, anyhow take it back (unopened of course) and tell them(Argos) that your partner told you you can get it free from your Bank. Then if your are not with Barclays download and install the free version of Avast, Avira or Microsoft Security Essentials (If you have W8 MSE will be already installed just not activated)

Thank you for your help, the one I got from argos today was the 2013, the same as the trial version, but it was 14.99, which I didn't think was too bad at the time, and that was reduced. But in between my post and your reply I opened it....doh

Thank you for those tips....I have opened it so it can't go back and don't bank at Barclays....the Avast and Avira I should have looked into and to be honest didn't know about MSE, mind you I'm more of a muppet with Windows 8 than any other previous system. I really cannot get my head round it, but I'll just have to keep going, grit my teeth and learn.......

Then just use the new licence key as previously advised. No need to uninstall and reinstall.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

The year doesn't matter. The 2012 key would work with the 2013 version.

Kaspersky yearly licence works for one year from date of first use . During that time period or if unused current Kasperky version can be used .
Key 2011 unused until Dec 2012 activated on Kaspersky 2012 . Jan 2013 upgraded to Kaspersky 2013 .

I am going to but that cheap version posted as a new license for 2014 .
