14 x12 hour shifts without a break

My husband is on day 13 of his 14 days ! It's been tough for everyone .I was just thinking i'm sure this is illegal - is it ?
He was told he had to work the 4 days inbetween he's shifts 6 ,(4 overtime) 4

    Depends what his job is and why it's happening.

    He should get a clear 24 hours rest per week or 48 per fortnight, but in some jobs/circumstances this doesn't apply/can be done as a one off

    If it's a temporary situation I would just bank the cash.

    It wouldn't be permitted for safety critical workers in the rail industry, what kind of maintenance does he do?

    I do 12 hour nights alternating with another bloke, if im off he covers me and vice-versa. Hes off soon for 7 shifts and I will have a total of 17 x 12 hr shifts to cover back to back, it can be tiring but its very rewarding.
    Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.

    17 x12 that's alot ! I thought 2 weeks without a break was pushing it .

    It does tend to be non stop work bed work bed but you get used to it;)
