Best App - Sending mobile texts from PC

Options
Hi,

I'm looking for an app which would connect my mobile and PC, allowing me to send texts (from my mobile allowance, appearing to the recipient as from my mobile) but typed on the PC.

Does that make sense? Does anyone know of any?

I've tried AirDroid but I need to have my phone on the desk for it to work... and MightyText just seems unreliable, I often have to disconnect and reconnect (so again, have the phone on my desk by this time)

AirDroid should work anywhere that you can see your wifi signal.
  • If you are with O2 you could use the TuGo windows program

OK - I'll try that again then, if it's still giving the same error message when trying to connect (e.g. when phone is in the next room) then I'll come back and maybe someone will be able to tell me what I'm doing wrong!

You need to confirm the connection on the handset itself when it is first initiated.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

Yes - that's the "issue" I was having. Probably the intended design of the app, but it sort of defeats the purpose for which I wanted the app in the first place!

It's a security feature, If it didn't work like that then ANYBODY on the same network as you would be able to access the phone and do whatever they want.

allowing me to send texts (from my mobile allowance, appearing to the recipient as from my mobile) but typed on the PC.

I'm with EE and I can log into my account on their web site and send 'Web Texts' I just type in the box, find the recipient/group and click send.
It looks like its come from my phone and comes off my allowance - I don;t even need to have my phone with me for it to work (although I will need the phone to see any replies of course!)

I use it to send group texts for a sports club I work with. My phone only allows a max of 10 recipients for each text but on the EE web site I can send to my regular 25 recipients all at once in seconds.

I know you asked for an App but if you are with EE then this might be another option.
