A few months back I was having trouble with my laptop. The HD was almost full, the blue screen of death had started to appear on a regular basis and often when I’d started the laptop on battery power or take it out of sleep a white screen appeared. If you shut the lid on the computer and lifted it again that quite often cured the problem other than that you had to shut down the machine and restart. In addition I replaced the keyboard as some of the keys were sticking. I have a Dell Inspiron.
Anyway the machine was completely wiped and Windows 7N installed on it. I have 4GB of memory. Storage is now ok, as is the keyboard I’ve no more problems with the blue screen but the white flickering screen continues. Can anyone advise me what to do to cure this problem, or indeed what is the cause.
As always many thanks
Kevin

No guarantee that this is even in the same ballpark but...
When I had something similar on a laptop and I searched for some clues I found a suggestion that the screen may be failing and to check that gently press it near the bottom. When I did that with mine the screen would return to normal. I gave the laptop to my granddaughter and got a new one having promised to replace the screen if and when it eventually failed completely. It's still working a couple of months later.0 -
Interesting, I must try that next time my problem occurs.
By the way is it easy to install a new scree?0
