We have annual travel policy with winter sports and diving upgrade that is due to expire on 23rd August. It cost £129 when we bought it last year.
It is with Essential Travel and is the Superior level cover.
My OH was asking about Grade 3 diving cover for deeper dives so I was looking at the cost difference and was staggered to find how much it is has gone up.
For exactly the same as what we bought last year (which happens to run out on the day we travel) at £129 they now want £382. That is without the upgrade to diving grade 3 which is over £500.
Has anyone experience with them? Are they likely to offer a better renewal price or negotiate on the price any?
That is quite a price rise in 11 months. I better start shopping around again!

I haven't had experience with them but I have had insurance of all types jump dramatically the 2nd year...usually because the first year was some great get them in discounted rate...had it happen with home and car insurance many times so just moved cover elsewhere...our current home insurance has been with the same company for 3 years running now because they don't seem to employ this practice (and are still the best cover for money we can get - and well known company)...this year when I called to confirm we wished to renew I told the person I spoke to to pass onto his supervisors, etc. that one reason we stick with them is that they do not seem to jack prices up after year one and I appreciate that.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

I did wonder that, but last year was just done via their website (no special offer as far as I can remember) and the quote I have just done is again just via their website.
Just seems a huge rise. Will speak to them next week and see what they say.
I have found a couple of other options that cover the diving we need so won't need to renew with them but I liked their cover (things like the missed departures due to road closures etc)

Unless you have medical issues or are over 70, £382 for annual travel insurance is a joke. Get it from somewhere else!0
