Tenerife- December 2013

Hey fellow money savers!
In December, my partner and I are off to tenerife for seven days with our friend who owns a house over there. For a couple of nights we will be staying at his and the other nights, we'd like to stay at a hotel. Can any recommend a nice self catering hotel on the island with pool, air conditioning and close to the local town/beach? Ideally we'd like 2-4 nights at the hotel. And any recommendations on what site to book with, baring in mind we already have flights booked so therefore won't be a package holiday.
Many thanks

Hi
Do you want to stay in Las Americas, which is a nice area of Tenerife.
There is some lovely upmarket bars and there's also cheap and cheerful.
There is the lovely las vistas beach and your only a 20-30 min walk to los cristianos.
Most hotels are not s/c but you can stay b/b,
for hotels I would recommend these.
I would highly recommend the 4* Hotel Noelia sur (check tripadvisor for reviews)
Then I would go to
monarch hotels (we've booked this hotel via them, it was the cheapest)
or
travelrepublic
lowcostholidays
alpharooms
all do accommodation.
Other good hotels in the area are the
meditterian palace
bitacorra
la siesta.
for s/c accommodation I would recommend
marola portosin
marola park
Andorra apts
parque de la paz.
All the reviews are there on tripadvisor.
what dates do u want to stay at the hotel/sc apt?0 -

Thanks for your reply! We will look at the websites provided. Is is worth looking through sites such as thomson? or thomas cook? etc.
Well we are not 100% sure on the location on the island where we would like to stay. But Las Americas is an option. As when we are at our friends house, we will be staying in the northern part of the island close to Los Realejos so would like somewhere on another part of the island.
We are there from the 11th to the 18th of December so sometime in between those dates.0 -
Not really sure of any SC hotels but the H10 Big Sur on Los Cristianos front is nice and pretty reasonable for B&B
Book direct

Maybe I meant apartments instead? sorry! But thanks for that suggestion

I'm not aware of any SC apartment complexes in Las Americas or Los Cristianos that have AC, although most would rent you a portable unit.
I would guess most people wouldn't think it a necessity in December anyway.
Some of the apartments at Paloma Beach have ceiling fans in the lounge and bedroom, the ones run by Tenerife Luxury certainly do

palm beach apts
las floritas apts
Andorra apts
vista sur apts
parque cristobal apts
Tenerife royal gardens apts
sunset bay apts
sunprime coral suites apts
Are some of the apts in las Americas that have air conditioning
Sorry I can't help you with accommodation anywhere else on the island, as we have a apt in las Americas so always stay here.
But yes look at lots of other accommodation providers, as the price can vary with them, I just pointed out the main ones that are popular0 -
You don't need air conditioning in December.0

We use it at new year, when we come in during the day.0
