But he was 'on the job' at the time so that's an understandable outcome. If you'd caught him nicking something from the local shop, or graffitiing a wall in your road, would you then inform the person who was employing him as a subcontractor?

    Sorry, what?

So… Saturday you have a guy round doing remedial work in your home. Sunday night the guy is back with a group of mates and ripping trees out of you garden. Then Monday he is back again working in your home. You wouldn't think to mention this to his employee?

What has that got to do with nicking something from the local shop?

Update: Persimmon recently paid us a visit and to their great credit they have actually done more than the police could and the person in question later came round to apologise. We appreciate the effort from both parties. It's really all we were expecting from the contractor.

Persimmon are now looking into the open boundary issue again. They took our complaint very seriously.

housestar, you have the upper hand on this.

The boundary to the open space will be on the site layout drawings, and such items will be part of the Planning Application.

By not complying with these details Persimmon are in breach of the Planning Approval which means the local authority can go after them.

From your position you need to notify the local authority of the situation, copy in Persimmon, then sit back and wait for action. Persimmon are...I will not comment, but they do not want to inflame Planning Departments.

Hope all is resolved soon. I would be more worried about what this employee is going to get up to next if this is what he does on his days off. Disgraceful really

Why not just spend a couple of hundred quid on a fence?

Well they are saying that they cannot put up a fence as Planning would take it back down again, this is even though there are other properties with some fencing or dwarf walls; and also that we have documentation from them stating 'Boundary to public areas to be wall or 1.8m close boarded as on site layout'.

So we are waiting to see if they can at least put in some hedging but they were meant to come back to us Monday latest with a resolution and nothing yet.
