PPI claim query

Hi,
Back in 2008 I had a credit card with capital one, the account has since been closed. I was having a sort through my paperwork last year and discovered that I had been paying PPI on the credit card. What I couldn't remember is why I was paying this and whether i had been missold. Given all the recent press around this I wrote to capital one last year in August to query and they wrote back to me enclosing a copy of my original credit card agreement which I had signed online and ticked the box to say I wish to purchase payment protection insurance. In short the letter said that I didnt have a case to claim and that they were closing the matter down, at the time I just left it there, but having been reading this forum it seems that I perhaps should have taken this further. Its now been over a year since i wrote to them but I think i would like to take this up again as I honestly dont think I would have knowingly taken PPI as a 23 year old male living at home (at the time) in full employment and and as a recently graduated student I wouldnt have wanted to be paying any additional charges on top of my monthly credit card repayments.
My question is, is this worth pursuing any further? the letter from capital one was quite lengthy and included lots of forms and other things including my signature :-S which makes me think that i may not have a case, just thought it would be good to get other peoples opinions on the matter and if need be advise on how i could take this forward again.
Regards
Bill.

You're out of time to refer your complaint to the FOS, and you've alrady complained once about it, so you can't complain again.
Chin up though, capital one have the lowest uphold rate at the fos because of the way it was sold, either online or by post.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
ah ok... so I dont have an grounds to pursue this further then? thats shame.0

On the up side, most Cap One complaints at the FOS are rejected. So, at least you didnt waste 12-18 months wondering if it would win or not. Your complaint was very weak and not likely to succeed. So, its not as if you are timed out from getting money. More likely timed out from getting another rejection.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
