Just a few points, with southern electric I paid £804 per annum, I was always at least £100.00 in credit, sometimes as much as £180.00.

I never use heating, been in the property for 12 years and not once have we put on a storage heater, in fact I have taken all bar on out.

The water is on for only 1 hour between 2am and 3am, we wash up once a day.

All the other information regarding tariffs is online, which I still can't get access too due to website issues.

I took a reading on Friday night and we have used 5 units of day and 3 units of night as of Sunday afternoon.

I will now be taking weekly readings to see usage.

I was stopped in a shopping centre and told verbally and in writing that they Eon, would give me significant savings.

Don't believe you but I am more than happy to be proven wrong.

Please post a legible image of that letter

    Morning Djewattie,

Already some excellent advice from the others here.

I think the first thing we do to do is to establish why you can't log in to your online account, what error message does it show when you've entered your username and password?

You need to get the account billed to actual readings and see what the actual balance is.

Then check your tariff, if you're not using much energy overnight in the off peak hours, then it sounds like it would be better to bill you on a one rate tariff.

If we have increased the Direct Debit, then it sounds like there is a balance on the account and we have calculated to cover your ongoing usage and pay the balance off over a few months.

As others have said, the 0345 numbers are charged at local rate and included in most call packages, but I'm sorry that you had to wait on the phone, we are working hard to get this reduced.

Let me know If I can help you through, always happy to try :D

  • I have hopefully got this sorted, crossed wires between my old supplier and EON over meter readings. The call centre said one thing which I knew wasn't correct. I have used another means of contact and this has raised the meter reading issue. It should be resolved either way.

I gave the switch over readings to SEC and got a rebate of £160.00, and I am £180.00 in debit with EON, I have a closed statement letter from SEC that states the actual meter readings, but it appears they gave EON readings from last November, hence the confusion.
