hi all I need some advice with my contract with edf.
I was on blue price promise sep 2013 until they launched there other produce April 2014, I changed when it was launched a long time ago.
However now im getting letters saying that my contract will end on 30/09/2013
I have been online it say im on blue price promise April 2014 but contract ends 30/09/2013.
I have called edf about this matter and they said I will continue on my current tariff until April 2014 and it is a technical error and will take up to 8 weeks to fix  this will bring me to mid september
should I believe them and wait and see if they correct it or should I call them again.
Can they end my contract in September and put me on a standard tariff?
I also have just had a annual statement for my gas it says I have used 14,821 kWH costing £576.27 they have lowered my dd from £52 to £39 im not sure it will cover they amount if I use the same next year.
with regard to the usage I take monthly meter reading on the same day each month and the total KWH used is very different my total is 1321 how did they get to 14,821? sorry for the long post
thanks in advance

You have used 1,321 metric meter units. But 1 meter unit is approx 11.2 kWh. You are charged in kWhs.0 -
Technical error - 8 weeks to fix ?
There certainly has been an error, but that letter advising the Tariffs End Date was not sent by a person, but the Computer.
Assurances by staff on the Customer Service Desk cannot be relied upon, (and that goes for all the suppliers, not just EDF).
Do yourself a favour and Write/Email EDF setting out the history of your account, and confirming back to them what you were told by the Service Desk staff - Then keep a copy safe for future reference - It's likely you will need it0 -
As to the tariffs, this is acting in your favour so far - the Sep 2013 prices are cheaper than the Apr 2014 ones. Technically they could/should have put you immediately on to the more expensive tariff but it seems you may be able to receive the cheaper tariff through its whole term.
Do you have an email reply or letter mentioning the Apr 2014 tariff? Or save a copy of the web page of your account that shows you are on it.
I would then just wait and see what happens - if you aren't changed to the correct tariff complain then. But as for now it seems as if the computer error is going to be in your favour.
And as to size of instalment - it may be a touch low so decide how to handle it. Bump it up by a small amount now, save up some cash to pay off a balance if it does build up, or hope this winter is shorter.0 -

However, if it does, courtesy dictates they should put all this in writing to you. Ask them to, which should be with you by the end of the week
Then your worries will be over.
Simples!
With regards to how EDF set their monthly DD revisions, well even that one beats me I'm afraid. (It's calculated separately for each fuel and then combined and any payments made outside of the DD scheme you really have no idea which fuel they credit to which I think possibly also screws up their calculations) However, when they said they would be lowering mine which I was not happy with, I simply called them and they immediately agreed upon request to re-instate the original payment plan. This was confirmed in writing (without me requesting it) a few days later
Regarding your gas meter readings, note your gas meter indicates cubic metres of gas used, not kWh. Your bill explains how a cubic metre of gas is converted into kWh.0 -
Thank you all for your replies will do what has been suggested0
