New job in September - at what point should I tell WTC?

Hi all,

My current contract at work was due to come to an end in end of July but because of appeal I have got it extended to end of August.

But in the meantime I have applied for jobs and been offered 3 :D

My chosen job is 25 hrs a week and term time only, and starts in September so will perfectly takes over from previous job :T

I do not currently know my exact start date as may need to go in a bit earlier for training. Also I do not know my exact wage yet. (Yes I don't know much yet!)

If my wage is as I'm expecting, it will be higher than my previous role and therefore will impact the working tax credits we claim.

Also we are currently getting in the region of £69 4 weekly (after recent renewal), but we should be only getting something like £39 because of an overpayment, which instead they are claiming next year. If that makes sense?!

So basically, do I tell them now with the vague information I have? Or wait until I know more info? Baring in mind I don't want to exacerbate my overpayment situation!

Thanks all!
Kelly

Wait until you know all the relevant details - you have 30 days from date of change to inform them - either in writing or over the phone. That way all facts will be available to them and they can adjust any award as needs to be done.

Thought as much - thanks for clarifying!
Hopefully I will know soon and won't have been overpaid too much! :-)
