Thanks you all massively for your help, I will write all that out coupon mad and practice it before I go. Will go tomorrow and I will let you all know if I need any more help, hopefully they will cancel it but I will ask for it in writing. Once again, thank you all. Feel so releived now, I was in a bit of a panic when I got home and found that letter.

We are here to help you get this cancelled, the best form of defence is attack if you like, you do that in multiple ways, first one will be Aldi at their shop. Please don't panic if that doesn't work. Looking forward to you coming back to say that they have cancelled this .

Hi guys, just to let you all know I went and spoke to the manager today and took my letter. He was really nice and kind, and is getting it cancelled for me. So releived! He said that they dont have any control over the parking because its all done by camera and the camera didnt know the reasons why i was late out of the car park, but they will always cancel them for you if you obviously havent taken the p**s, have a receipt, and are only a little bit over, or if you got a good reason for staying too long. But thanks all of you for all your advice. :T

This highlights once again that PE's so-called "car-park management" is completely useless. It can't monitor any misuse of disabled bays and (as stated above) cannot take into account any genuine reason for overstay.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Just to add a note to this. My friend had a letter from PE for overstaying his time at Aldi. He was scared by the threats in the letter so he paid it. Then he went to see the manager at Aldi to complain, and explain why he had gone over his time. He came away with a voucher for the full amount plus £5, to spend in the store. He didn't mind that as he shops there anyway. So basically he had his money refunded. I suppose this depends how sympathetic the manager is at the store.

Always the best way first of all is a face to face with the manager, acting reasonably.

Yes, some are less than helpful, but if they are, you are no worse off than if you didn't go. With the staff helping your son at the time, I was almost sure that this would be the right way forward and even with Parking Eye hovering, I suspect that the local branch are in your good books and have done an excellent customer relations exercise, even if Aldi nationally still employ PE.
