Anyone had any experiences with Reeds Rains?

Options
My fiancee and I are looking at a property listed by Reeds Rains.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with them and if you know of any of the "small print" or any of the clauses, such as the buyout clause.

Thanks in advance.

Use the search button..There is lots on reeds rains.
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

very poor when I used to rent through them. I got left without power with a burnt out consumer unit
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

My mate used to be a mortgage broker for them. He lasted 6 months! Their mortgage brokers apparently have hard targets to meet. Im not sure about their sales staff but you might find your getting the hard sell.

I have to disagree. . Rented a house through them in glossop although it was 5 years ago... good service, boiler broke 2 weeks before xmas and landlords lived in Germany. They got it sorted pretty quickly considering the demand for plumbers at this time. No hassle and it was before deposit protection. We then bought and they let us move out to suit us, and let us off the last months rent in lieu of deposit. We also had pets at the property.

18months after we left I ordered something online and the co. Despatched to the old rented address not where we live now (80 miles away). I rang reeds rains to see if they were still letting agent and they were happy to try and recover the parcel. Unsuccessfully but at least they tried.

When in glossop we rented through 3 different agents and rr were by far the best.

Their speaker never showed up at the Bolton landlord and letting show ,everyone was sat there waiting to listen to the advantages of a letting agent over a private landlord. I guess we all figured it out fr ourselves

Appalling. Their estate agents are very unprofessional, and they don't talk to each other.

what on earth do you mean by buyout clause?

And assuming that this is renting, being listed by an agent doesn't mean that the property will be managed by that agent - you need to ask.
  • I listed a property to sell with Reeds Rain and had no major problems other than only two viewings and no offers. Sold through another agent in the end. I had a multi agency contract with RR so didn't pay them anything. Found their agent to be okay - friendly, returned phone calls etc but that might be because I pushed and pushed. I was not at all happy that they passed my details on to a mortgage broker after I had told them not to!

I have rented through them twice but after I've signed I've dealt with the LL so no problems.

In relation to buying a property one of their agents told me during a group viewing that due to my age I should stay renting and buy a BTL. I thought this was a massive assumption to make and my personal choices are mine!

Overall I don't think they're too back and definitely better than one agent in the area who doesn't reply to requests for viewings.
  • Reeds Rains are awful agents, they rip people off for services they don't need. They have no morals.
