There are so many recipes knocking about on this forum, it wouldnt hurt to take a look.
I cant say Im the most motivated person on earth at times, but if I can be bothered to go out, get some ingredients, get some recipes together and cook from scratch, anyone can.
And health wise, you might also be doing yourself a massive favour as well as saving a few pennies as well.
The way I started was to get one or two dishes I could make from scratch and then build from there, I wouldnt expect anyone to go from frozen meals to cooking from scratch in 24 hours, but if you build it up gradually, you'll manage it no problem.0 -

I enjoy cooking, but convenience is a factor for me at times and since I've never noticed a taste or quality issue after freezing and microwaving food, I'll continue to perpetrate this atrocity against food.
I do - I sow it, grow it, protect it, harvest it, wash it and cook it or preserve it. No way am I then going to nuke it. What a complete waste

You must have plenty of time on your hands.0 -

No but you do have access to a supermarket. I was talking about me in response to a question.
Supermarkets sell fruit and veg and oil and pans and spices and herbs...I can guarantee I can make fresh healthy garlic and chilli noodles with tons of seared veg packed full of nutrients in about 10 - 15 mins, as I make it every sunday when we get back from the lottie.

I don't like cooking either. I have a nice big kitchen which is wasted on me.
I have survived quite well on simple stuff and I'm not obese or wasting away.
I am also single with a young son who is eating finger food at the moment. I don't have a problem with cooking a few veg or preparing a salad but that's about all I can manage. I have tried following recipes but I just get the timings wrong and I worry about things being undercooked and I absolutely hate burnt offerings. I really have a problem with it and never make anything from scratch, I was never shown as a kid what to do.
I am dreading it when my son gets a bit older and he tells everyone at school I can't cook, but he most certainly won't be fed on rubbish!
Hey,
don't wish to give advice, cos I'm carp. but you would probably best doing things likes mince & tatties, stews etc. As long as you cook the mince, meat for as long as possible it will be ok, all you have to wait on is the tatties and veg.
I think I need help too!

That would defeat the object; and you only get your noodles after 2 hours of hard work at the lottie. Tomorrow we are turning half a ton of compost, weeding, strimming, checking our canes for stability for the rest of the season and harvesting.
I'll see you 9am in my kitchen with sturdy boots and long trousers on. I'll even introduce you to my resident frog if you are lucky.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0
