The scooter broke; the retailer elected to refund. They could have had the scooter repaired, they could have replaced it.
In this case since the shop won't refund then ask for a repair. In other words they can send it to their alteration service where the buttons will be sewn back on.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Thanks, you're right the very least I would expect is a repair. This thread has been very useful for me to understand what it is I'm upset about and actually it's that I bought an expensive (for me anyway) suit from a reputable retailer and expected the suit to last the awards ceremony and beyond and I felt a bit of a doofus as a result of the buttons falling off and me not being able to button it up - now imortalised in photos and I look scruffy. Sewing on the buttons now does not rectify that. I realise the majority of people will think I should just get over it!0 -
Mind you, given that they are selling suits which are badly finished then I am sure they wouldn't want any bad publicity;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
