Hiya
I live in a 3 yr old apt and have noticed that my cistern is dripping constantly. All the pipework etc is hidden behind travertine tiles so they will have to remove some to get to the cistern (I presume) as I cannot see a way they can get to it.
I am just about to call a plumber to look at it but I am concerned that they will try to rip me off due to the fact that everthing is hidden behind the tiles. Does anyone have any idea of how much would be a reasonable charge for a plumber to come out and take a look and remove tiles etc? I live in manchester.
Thanks and any advice greatfully received.

The plumber seems to think the filling valve has gone. I have a concealed flush cystem and airsystem by grohe.
Does anyone have any experience with these at all?
I have ordered a replacement filling valve but the plumber hasnt got a clue how to fit it as its a new and as he described it "funky" part.

which cistern do you have a photo would be helpful, if its dripping i would suggest its more likely to be the flush/dump valve at fault, your plumb doesnt seem to know what he is talking about, send me a photo and will try and help could be an easy and free fix tiles aside, but address that problem now too0

Seems strange that there is no access to the cistern.
I would have thought access should have been left for such things as repair or replacement of parts.
Are you sure there is no access panel maybe from another room ??
perhaps ask your neighbours how they have accessed the cistern???
Bit of a pain if you have to take the tiles off !!!0
